You might check with local wildlife officials to see what birds exactly might come to your bird feeder or birdhouse.

Check out the Bird Feeding National Society site, it has nice tables aboutwhich birds you might attract and which feeder and foods to use.

Some popular foods are sunflower seeds, cracked corn, safflower seeds, thistle, nectar (for hummingbirds) , fruit, suet, mealworms,  and peanuts.

Keep bird feeders at least three feet from the windows and high enough so your cats won’t of course  get them. Different birds eat at different heights. So put some feeders lower and some higher.

Making a bird feeder or bird house part of your landscaping is a rewarding and eye catching treat – especially in Colorado where we have so many colorful variety of birds.
